In Quebec, 8 species of freshwater turtles are present on the territory. They live mainly in southern Quebec, in marshes, lakes and rivers. Wetlands are therefore essential to the survival of turtles!

In the culture of Iroquoian-speaking peoples, turtles have a special meaning.
