Striped skunk

When he arrived at the Bioparc, Méo was only a few days old. He was therefore bottle-fed by the animal caretakers. To avoid any problems, our skunk was operated on, meaning that it has no anal glands. He cannot project his fragrant musk.

Orphan animals

Spring is a time when many species give birth, including red foxes, raccoons, striped skunks, white-tailed deer and moose. It is therefore a period when we can meet an orphan in nature. But you should know that the majority are not really orphans. It is important to leave young animals where they are and not to touch them. If they are observed for several days alone, contact the wildlife protection officers, who will intervene if necessary. Although we are full of good intentions, the best thing to do is often to let nature follow its course.
