Meet the Executive Chef

" I remember some restaurants wouldn't hire me because I was a woman. I was told that it was quite “unusual” to see women in the kitchen. You do not say things like that to me twice! And so I spent my whole career proving them wrong. "  - Marie-Chantal Lepage - Executive Chef  -

With more than 40 years of experience, renowned Chef Marie-Chantal Lepage has worked at some of the finest restaurants in Quebec City alongside some of the top chefs in the region.

She had the opportunity to be an international ambassador for Québec terroir, a role that made her travel around the world to teach but also to learn. Among the many awards she has won over her career, she is the only woman to have been named National Chef of the Year for the Société Cuisinier Pâtissiers du Québec (SCCPQ) which is truly an honor because it is not a committee that determines the winner, it is a vote. All the Chefs throughout the province vote for whom they feel should win. I

n this predominantly male environment, she has been paving the way for many women in the industry. To this day, she remains the only woman in the province with an Executive Chef position in a major hotel establishment.
