Robert "Bob" Connors Community Church
The founder…
Founder Robert Connors (1835–1895), from Nova Scotia, was known as “The King of the St. John River.”
A sawmill owner and lumberman, Bob Connors built a wooden church in the late 19th century for his Protestant employees.
On October 24, 2001, the church was declared a protected historical site.
By the end of the 19th century, the village of Connors, which was named after the prominent businessman, was served by the Temiscouata Railway (between Connors and Edmundston).
Its luxurious hotel, built in 1894, was destroyed by fire in 1928.
