In Messis, we discover a near future where individuals are separated from each other by waves of pandemic disease. Faced with the impossibility of contact with a destroyed nature, a new generation of humans seeks to find connection, meaning and intimacy through a sacrificial ritual enabling them to rejoin the metaverse.
