This ship could be navigated from the upper deck. As you can see, this position affords a better view of the ship’s surroundings.

At the time, this deck was equipped with the same navigational tools as those in the wheelhouse.

Navigation lights

Look at both outer corners of the deck: one has a green light and the other, a red light.
Starboard – Port
They are the navigation lights that indicate the ERNEST LAPOINTE’s port and starboard.
The same colours are found on the buoys that mark the St. Lawrence Seaway.
