Casting off!
Bollards

To moor a ship at dock, ropes are wrapped around bollards like these. The ropes used to do so are called mooring lines.

In winter, the entire deck of a ship is sometimes covered with a thick layer of ice.

The crew is breaking ice on the deck of the ERNEST LAPOINTE during its only journey on the high seas headed for Greenland, in 1958.
