Vanlife Values Charter

The Rivière-du-Loup region takes pride in the experiences it offers and its unique landscapes, both along the river and inland. To preserve a pleasant and respectful living environment for everyone, Tourisme Rivière-du-Loup adheres to the Vanlife Values Charter, developed by the Association Vanlife Québec.

This charter is based on two key principles:

• Support the local economy by prioritizing local businesses, producers, and services.
• Leave no trace by adopting responsible and environmentally friendly practices.

1. Follow the “leave no trace” principle by leaving places cleaner than when you arrived, even if it means picking up trash left by others.

2. Respect private property by not occupying it without permission.

3. Obey the rules posted in public places.

4. Keep your vehicle on roads, trails, and areas designated for its use.

5. Do not damage the environment and preserve the local flora and fauna.

6. Support, through your purchases, the municipalities and businesses that welcome us.

7. Do not become a nuisance under any circumstances.

8. Dispose of all wastewater in the areas designated for that purpose.

9. Build fires only if they are permitted and safe.

10. Promote these best practices.
