The legend of Bécancour

A long time ago, a couple of Amerindians were going down the Bécancour River when, suddenly, the man, pushed by a love impulse as sudden as irresistible, placed a resounding kiss on the lips of his companion. The latter, surprised and delighted, apparently appreciated the experience so much that she cried out: "bec encore" (“kiss again”), which became Bécancour by deformation.
