A Busy Canal
Around 1928

The Rideau Queen (in the foreground) and the Laurentia share the canal, having just passed through a swing bridge together. These two steamships primarily transported passengers, connecting the various public docks along the route between Lake St-Louis and Lake St-François.
In 1945, during the navigation season (from May to October), nearly 24 boats per day traveled through the Soulanges Canal, both day and night.
