Located at the junction of Coteau-du-Lac and Coteau-Landing (Les Coteaux), this railway bridge, built in 1910 by the Dominion Bridge Company of Lachine for the 'Grand Tronc', replaced the first bridge built by the Canada Atlantic Railway Company in 1890.

In the summer of 1854, the 'Grand Tronc' Railway began construction on the Montreal-Toronto segment. By 1905, the 'Grand Tronc' started taking over several operations of the Canada Atlantic Railway Company. Nine years later, in 1914, the company was officially integrated into the 'Grand Tronc'.

The section of the railway bridge going over the canal is the first part of the grand railway bridge crossing the Saint Lawrence River to reach Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. After the canal, it then goes over D'Adoncourt Island, Longueuil Island, and Île aux Chats. This magnificent railway bridge, over 2 km in length, can be admired when crossing the Mgr Langlois Bridge.
