0Working the Land

With the help of his horses, the settler clears his plot of land, removing stumps and rocks, then ploughs, sows and finally harvests.

The horse is an indispensable resource for farm work. It is also used as a means of locomotion and for work in the logging camp.

It takes hard work to harvest. The family sticks together: the wife encourages her husband by bringing him ginger water to quench his thirst.
