Chronolog Citizen Science Station
On the way to Stop 4, you'll find a Chronolog station along the river's edge. This citizen science initiative is part of Momentum Conservation's Climate Change Observatory Network in Maine.

Images captured here document local impacts on the river over time, including human development, storm damage, and tidal changes.
This data allows the Biddeford-Saco community and researchers around the world to monitor the crowd-sourced images to understand how Climate Change is impacting this river.

You can visit this station at any time of the year to capture photos, whether you're here for the tour or just enjoying the Riverwalk.
Simply scan the QR code on the sign and follow the instructions.
Photos are automatically uploaded to an archive of images from the same location — creating a time-lapse of change over the seasons — and giving researchers a window into this specific location.
Research observations can include:
- High Water Levels
- Vegetation Buffers
- Erosion
- Human Impacts
- & More
You can return to the Chronolog station to contribute photos at any point during the tour.
